Recreation Program

Mission:

The mission of Adventure Cove is to enrich children’s lives in a loving and nurturing space through memorable recreational and informational experiences.

Vision:

Adventure Cove is here to provide high quality after-school care to a diverse group of children through recreational play that will give children a sense of belonging, and allow them to have fun and be refreshed while participating in activities that help to develop them holistically. This will benefit and strengthen local families, and collectively empower the community.

Program Hours

M-F 3:15 to 6pm

Registration:

  • Kindergarten – 6th grade

  • We offer flexible enrollment

  • $20 per day per child

  • ($15 per day for each additional child in the household)

  • $95 per week per child

  • ($80 per week for each additional child in the household)

  • *We offer drop-in service if notified by 10:00am

Meet Our Care Team

Our team comprises warm, compassionate and experienced caregivers, each with a heart for serving children and supporting their development. We provide a wealth of educational, creative and exciting after-school activities that enhance your child’s learning experience. We believe in creating a fun, engaging and safe environment that allows children to socialize, make friends, bond and develop their interpersonal skills with their peers.

Executive Director

10 years of pastoral leadership experience, she taught church classes for ages 2-17 for a number of years, summer camp leadership experience, from 2017-2020, she led activities and coordinated host family experience for the international student program, and mother of three girls, ages 10-14

Associate Director

B.S. Speech Therapy

25 years experience working at Kidstart as a speech therapist and evaluation team leader, administrator of a private school for 10 years, overseeing curriculum and instruction of students

Special Guests

Meet our specials teachers and our alternate teachers. Our specials teachers over see our programs such as sporting activities, cooking, and gardening just to name a few. Our alternate teachers are teachers that will rotate in and out at times with our main stay teachers. All teachers have a passion to serve students.

Agriculture trainer, teaching how to use organic pesticides, and how to develop and maintain proper soil health.

Founder and Director of “Le Twisted Spoon”, a vegan whole food advocacy website, where she shares her own experiences with quality food and sustainability. Pearl has taught cooking at homeschool co-ops, and is a mom to two amazing girls who she currently homeschools.

Lex Blaakman

Lex Blaakman is a wood sculptor, painter, and graphite drawing artist of the Finger Lakes area. He has created professionally since 1976, when he was awarded his first commission of an oil portrait for Brighton High School's Art Department Chairman. As an artist, he learned that an artist's career must involve learning in all fields of education.

B.S. Elementary Education 

Eight years experience at the YMCA as a fitness personal trainer, lifeguard, before and after school coordinator, and camp counselor. He was then promoted to Camp Family and Teen Director for two years. He also had experience at Village Sports as Operations Director, and met his wife, Stephanie, there. He also works as a peer mental health specialist, working with youth, teen, and adult mental health support services for all of Livingston County.

B.S. Mathematics

Director of the after-school program in Fairport for one year. Extensive experience in elementary classrooms, and children’s extracurricular programs. Stephanie is a math whiz, and currently works as Senior Consultant and Project Manager for Data Strategy, Management, and Analytics. The Thrasher family is settled in Geneseo with their three sons and daughter. You can find this energetic group outside with their Rescue dog Rambo practicing football, or camping whenever they get the opportunity!
